BPG Annual Meeting 2016
The 22th Annual Meeting
The 22th Annual Meeting was organized in the “old prison” in Hasselt, which is part of the law campus of the Hasselt University. The old prison, located close to the center of the city, proved to be an excellent location for a successful 22th Annual Meeting. Almost 200 participants from the different polymer research teams of all Belgian universities, from some international academic research teams and from industry discussed on the latest trends in polymer chemistry during oral plenary lectures and posters. An impression of the annual meeting is given on the left.
In four invited lectures by internationally renowned speakers, specific topics were addressed more in depth.
- Prof. Rachel Evans (Trinity College Dublin)
- Dr. Julien Nicolas (Institut Galien Paris-Sud)
- Dr. Roberto Teixeira (Devan Chemicals)
- Prof. Craig Hawker (UCSB)
The further scientific program consisted of 16 oral contributions from young scientist and more than hundred poster presentations. The two best oral contributions and four best poster contributions were awarded and the two best master theses from last year were presented and awarded as part of the conference.
During the Annual meeting, Prof. Craig Hawker received the biannual BPG award for his outstanding contribution to polymer science and technology.
Again, a career event was organized in which the young scientists, looking for career opportunities could talk to the industry.
The 23th Annual Meeting will be organized by the University of Liège, in collaboration with Agfa.back to overview
